Angela Reat

Art Director/ Senior Graphic Designer

When Angela Reat was growing up, she loved re-decorating closets—hers or friends’. “I’d take all the clothes out and turn them into playrooms,” she laughs. Closets or graphic design, the common denominator for Angie is solving problems. “I like to take a big, nasty mess and make it clean, organized, beautiful and functional. I like things that are gorgeous or striking, of course, but I like things that function well even better.”

As a west coast based graphic designer, Angie applies her problem-solving approach to identity and branding for the food, beverage and hospitality industries. Her specialty is helping small-business owners launch their dreams—a quest she is intimately familiar with as the co-owner, with her husband, the winemaker Matt Berson, of Portland Wine Co. “My job is helping clients understand what they want—even when they think they don’t know.”

Angie is an accomplished designer with an strong portfolio of domestic and international work. In addition to web and print design for large brands such as Disney, Warner Brothers and Universal Studios, the native Texan has traveled, lived and worked in South America, Asia and Europe. She founded and was creative director of a design firm in Rome and served as an art director for the University of California San Francisco.

Almost 2 decades ago, she formed Imprint Design to contribute her branding and design acumen to the success the region’s nationally acclaimed wine and food industry. Her approach, and her results, are in synch with the region’s marriage of tradition and creativity. It gives her great pleasure to help her clients grow their business through uniquely beautiful and functional branding and identity.

“Graphic design should be all about the client,” Angie says. “Great design doesn’t get noticed for its sake but rather for how it represents the brand perfectly.”

Angie has a BA in Industrial Design from San Francisco State University. She lives with her husband and daughter and, when she’s not going to wine dinners, loves to garden, sew, knit, cook, bake and twinkle on the piano.
