Description:

Angela Reat is an accomplished graphic designer with 15 years of experience in the U.S. and abroad. She currently specializes in identity and branding for the food, beverage and hospitality industries. Her wealth of creative experience comes from working with clients such as Disney in LA, The United Nations in Rome, and as an Art Director for the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). However, it is the small projects that often capture the heart, and Angela has had the pleasure of helping numerous individuals launch their dream companies – clients with stringent budgets but lots of enthusiasm.

Angela is currently active in branding and peripherals for the nationally recognized wine and restaurant arena in Portland. It is a vibrant and competitive scene in which innovation and craft walk hand in hand. Her approach, and her results, are in-sync with this industry’s marriage of tradition and creativity. EXPERIENCES:

FREELANCE
As a freelancer I have experienced working with a wide variety of clients in Portland, OR, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco and Rome, Italy (see client list). This experience has exposed me to a multitude of projects specializing in graphic design including both digital and print formats, as well as scoping projects from conception to completion by mentoring clients on their graphic goals, working within determined time lines and meeting budgeted plans.

UCSF PUBLIC AFFAIRS (The University of California San Francisco)is responsible for all of the media relations both inside the University and with the public. My responsibilities have included:
• Creating original innovative designs for various UCSF publications.
• Maintaining, enhancing & monitoring UCSF Id standards.
• Preparing and creating job proposals, client presentations, estimates, time lines & budgets.
• Guide & strategize with clients determining design directions for their communication needs.
• Hire & art direct assets (photographers, illustrators, printers, free-lance designers),

   which includes coordinating printing bids, press checks and budgets.
• Project management: planning and monitoring jobs from concept to delivery
• Job management from projects initiation to delivery and archiving

CREATIVE RESOURCES is comprised of American and Italian women in Rome, is an identity, marketing and promotions organization. As director of Identity, Graphics and Marketing my responsibilities include logo review and redesign, online presences, collateral design unity (creating and keeping all graphics within the style guide’s boundaries). Our clients range from the US Embassy in Rome, The World Food Program (WFP), a division of the UN, various retail shops, to the tourism industry.

CONFERENCE PLANNERS facilitates large-scale conferences, trade shows, training seminars and industry events for leading information technology companies, nationwide. As the IT project manager, I helped corporate clients, such as Cisco Systems, develop and execute major promotional and educational events.
My responsibilities included:

THE DESIGN ROOM was a full service design firm specializing in identity design, collateral and web design. As Art Director my responsibilities included:

• Accompanying Business Development in sales meetings and developing estimates for

   job time estimation and job costing purposes
• Developing creative briefs
• Creating site architecture documentation, interface design, site maps,

   navigation schematics, and page elements for a broad range of websites
• Strategic design converting business requirements into digital assets
• Managing, mentoring and coordinating workflow of design staff

GUIDANCE SOLUTIONS located in Los Angeles, is a leading developer of customized e-business solutions. They mainly work with traditional businesses, such as Footlocker and Bidwell & Company, to identify and implement new opportunities on the Web. My responsibilities included:
• Managing Senior and Associate Interactive Designers as well as Art Contractors
• Managing and balancing personnel resources of the art department
• Working with design and production staff to establish composition and layout
• Identifying, communicating and selecting necessary resource needs for the art

  department by assuring that artists complete work within budgeted hours
